Lucknow : With paper leaks and mass copying reported widely, the BJP Tuesday hit out at the Akhilesh Yadav government for “complete failure” in conducting the Uttar Pradesh board examinations and playing with the future of lakhs of students.

Bharatiya Janata Party state unit spokesman Manoj Mishra alleged that exam centres were being “outsourced to the copying mafia” and studious students were left to suffer.

“We have concrete information that mass copying is taking place in many districts, directly under the supervision of SP leaders and education officials,” Mishra said, adding that the state government had turned a blind eye to the education sector and was eroding the value of the board exams.

The party cited how a National Security Guard (NSG) commando was killed last week in Aligarh when he tried to prevent copying at a centre where his relative was appearing for the exams.

The paper leak in Agra Monday night, the party said, reflected the mess that the exam had turned out to be. “Sadly, the state government and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav rather than cracking down on such elements are trying to gloss over the incidents,” alleged Mishra.
