New Delhi : The central government Wednesday said it has sanctioned Rs.72.55 crore for rebuilding and reconstruction of flood-ravaged Uttarakhand’s damaged tourism assets.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, union Minister of Culture and Tourism Mahesh Sharma said Rs.14.51 crore has already been released.
Sharma said the state government has informed that the utilisation of the released amount is under process.
“Uttarakhand has not sought any additional financial relief from the ministry of tourism.”
“The ministry had also announced a special financial package of Rs.100 crore for reconstruction of tourism assets in Uttarakhand after the natural calamity,” said Sharma.
Thousands died in the flash floods in Uttrakhand last year.
