Candle light vigil by Khudai Khidmatgar for Peshawar terror attack victims

New Delhi: Holding placards with message of love, peace and humanity, people from all walks of life including professionals, college students and little children participated in a candle light vigil commemoration organized by Khudai Khidmatgar to condemn the Peshawar killings, where in a desperate attack Taliban terrorists killed over 140 persons, including 132 school children, of a school run by Pakistan army.

The commemoration held on Wednesday at the Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah here also saw speeches Khudai Khidmatgar members and some children.

Expressing his deep sorrow over the killings of innocent children in Pakistan, Faisal Khan, Khudai Khidmatgar leader, said, “It’s high time everyone should come up and be vocal against any kind of terrorism being done in the name of religion. Terrorism is not pertinent to any particular religion or community but comes from the brainwashing of some people by the power hungry men.”

Maulana Fateh Nadvi, a member of Khudai Khidmatgar, said it is really disheartening that small children are now being targeted by the terrorists to achieve menial ends and gave an example from the life of the Prophet of Islam, where he repeatedly ordered his warriors to take utmost care of women and children, even if there is a war, a release said here.

Another Khudai Khidmatgar member Anjum Bhan said those who are doing up such acts can never be followers of any religion as the base of every religion in the world is love and peace.

“It is the high time we came forward and spoke against these atrocities.”

Rizwan Ahmed, a university student, said he is feeling as if it is his personal loss. Lakshmi, a poor little girl from an orphanage, expressed her sorrow as she said: “We must start loving each other right away. Then only peace can be promoted everywhere.”

A lot of other small children too condemned terrorism by speaking their heart out and singing songs of love and mutual respect. The commemoration meeting concluded with the pledge of Khudai Khidmatgar of doing constant efforts to suppress hatred, promote love among people and communities and support peace initiatives at every cost, the release added.
