AMU Alumni Association organizes educational awareness and career counseling in the villages of Manipur

Imphal: Aligarh Muslim University – Alumni Association of Manipuri Muslims (AMU – AAMM) in association with Muslim Student Development Organization, Sangaiyumpham, organized a One-Day Educational Awareness and Career Counseling on February 9, 2014 at Sangaiyumpham in Thoubal District.

The function held at the Sangaiyumpham Community Hall, Idgah Road, was attended by large number former AMU students. Associate Professor of DM College Dr. Mohd. Kheiruddin Shah, Associate Professor of Presidency College, Motbung, Dr. Md. Ziaur Rahaman Khan, President of AMU-AAMM & Inspector of Manipur Police Mohd. Riyajuddin Shah, Assistant Professor of Lilong Haoreibi College Md. Sadiqur Rahaman, Assistant Professor of Thoubal College and Advisor of AMU-AAMM Mohd. Leihajuddin, among others, graced the dias.



Large number of school and college students, local leaders, parents, and religious leaders attended the programme.

Seven resource persons spoke on different themes: Lt. Colonel Mohd. Shaheed Khan spoke on “Career Counseling and Motivation,” Sub-Inspector of Manipur Police Mohd. Riyaz Khan on “Juvenile Delinquency and its remedial measures,” Assistant Professor of Modern College Dr. Syed Ahmed on “Education of the Muslims in Manipur: Opportunities and Challenges,” SDC-Konthoujam Mohd. S. Daulat Khan on “Career Planning – A Holistic Approach,” MFS and Cardiologist Dr. Mohd. Rabban Shah on “Health and Sports,” Assistant Professor of Manipur University Dr. Mohd. Hamidur Rahman on “Schemes/Programmes run by Ministry of Minority Affairs for the welfare of the Minorities,” and District Finance Manager and General Secretary of AMU-AAMM Mohd. Bariyajuddin Shah on “Aligarh Muslim University – A boon of education to the Muslim World.”



The Association has been organizing educational awareness cum career counseling programmes in the remote Muslim villages of Manipur from January 2014. This is the second educational awareness and career counseling programme. The first programme was held on January 5 at Mayang Imphal in Imphal West District. The Association is planning to cover almost all the remote Muslim villages of Manipur. AMU – AAMM was formed on 1 July 2012 to work for the welfare and development of the Muslims in the State.
