AAP doled out money to power discoms: BJP

New Delhi : The BJP Sunday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) – which quit the Delhi government Friday – of doling out Rs.323 crore to power distribution companies from funds meant for civic bodies for development work.

“This move exposes the true colours of the AAP. On one hand, it was accusing private discoms in public of overcharging and, on other hand, it gave away Rs.323 crore to them and that too from funds meant for the municipal corporations,” said BJP’s Delhi unit president Vijay Goel.

The Delhi assembly had Friday passed an Appropriation Bill through which an amount of Rs.372 crore was sanctioned for the 50 percent power subsidy announced by the AAP government and the previous Congress government.

Kejriwal and his six cabinet ministers quit the government Friday after 49 days in power after the AAP-sponsored Jan Lokpal bill failed to get support in the assembly.
