New Delhi: Welfare Party of India has expressed happiness and supported the decision to form Telengana bifurcating Andhra Pradesh. Welfare Party of India national general secretary Dr. S.Q.R. Ilyas in a statement said that finally the cries of the people of Telengana for a new state for long have been heard and justice delivered.
WPI has asked the central government to ensure that the concerns of Seemandhra people are adequately and judiciously addressed. The party opined that the economic and development packages promised for the Seemandhra people must alleviate their apprehensions.
Any further demand pending must be resolved at the earliest through discussion. He appealed the people of Seemandhra to avoid the path of confrontation and violence. The statement continued that Hyderabad must not be made an issue of contention and an amicable atmosphere be maintained ensuring the safety and security of the people from Seemandra living in Hyderabad.
