Jagatial, Andhra Pradesh: Social Activists & Local Leaders of Andhra Pradesh conducted a meeting to show their anger under the banner of ‘People’s Movement Against UAPA, A.P’ in Jagatial town of A.P.
Mr. Mohammed Arif, Andhra Pradesh state committee member of People’s Movement Against UAPA, has stated that basic reason for the illegal arrest and subsequent detention of these innocent victims is the existence of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The original act of 1967 was amended three times in 2004, 2008 and 2012. By adding new clauses to the original law by these amendments, it has become more inhuman than the previous draconian Law. So it is evident that unless and until UAPA is withdrawn, the unending stories of jailed innocents will continue.
The action plan decided by the movement mentioned that a national delegation will visit the state to meet leaders, media and public, poster and pamphlet campaigning in different parts of state, postcard and online petition campaign along with All India Night Vigil Day (February 21) and People’s conference Against UAPA in New Delhi (March 5) will also be conducted.
Mr. Shoaibul Haq (JIH, Jagatial president), express his deep concern over this anti-civilian law and demand timely and democratic action plan to be implement from all sections and masses, other dignitaries like Riyaz Mama president Suta – Jagatial, Mr.Mansoor Ahmed Osmani AIMIM General President also express their views and gave commitment to make the movement and a campaign Successful and Mr.Najiullah Vice President Welfare Party of India-Jagatial said this movement to be continued till the law repealed in his concluding Speech.
