The Commission has directed that cadres of political parties and candidates, in their enthusiasm, should not lose sight of the legal provisions dealing with cruelty to animals.

During Rao Dan Singh’s campaign in Village Unchi Bhandore Saturday night, he was allegedly riding a camel. It was also alleged that horses were handled using banned thorn bits.

The notice was served on the complaint of Naresh Kadian and Sukanya Kadian, activists from animal rights group OIPA – the Organisation of Indian People for Animals.

Rao Dan Singh is also Haryana’s outgoing chief parliamentary secretary.
