Jaipur : Malaysia has expressed its keenness to invest Rs.10,000 crore in the road sector in Rajasthan, officials Monday said.
A final decision in this regard is to be taken by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and if all goes well then the state government will ink a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Malaysian government in this regard Oct 27.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has already started preparations in this regard, a statement issued by the state government said Monday.
“The Malaysian government has shown interest, particularly on the development of 20,000 km of state highways in public private partnership (PPP) mode,” PWD Minister Younis Khan said in a statement.
He said that S. Samy Vellu, Malaysian special envoy to India and South Asia on infrastructure, will meet Raje here Oct 27 and is expected to discuss the investment proposal.
One of the Malaysian government representatives Monday met Khan and expressed interest in financing and being a partner in the road projects.
Khan assured that the state government will provide all possible support and help to the Malaysian government in this regard.
