It may be mentioned here that Baby Masooma Fatima was selected for bronze medal under National Children’s Award-2013 but could not receive this prize due to a clerical blunder. In the list of awardees in the selection list of highest achievers of National Roller Skating prepared by the Union Ministry for Women and Child Development it was inadvertently mentioned that Baby Fatima’s home state was Kerala instead of Madhya Pradesh from where she hails.

Baby Fatima with her parents met the state Governor Yadav and submitted a memorandum to him complaining about the error which deprived her of the bronze medal she was entitled. The Governor realising the injustice done to a budding sports person has written a letter to the Prime Minister for the rectification of this error.

It is noteworthy that 8-year-old Std. III student Baby Fatima has won 17 gold and 15 silver medals in various events of National Roller Skating up till now.
