A school in Bihar initiates ‘each child – teach child’ project on International Literacy day

Jehanabad (Bihar): In order to reach out to those poor children who are keeping away from education due to backwardness of their parents or for any other such reasons, Kainat International School in Kako,Jehanabad district of Bihar on the occasion of International literacy day has come up with an innovative initiative under the name of ‘Each Child – Teach Child’ project.

The school has told its students to identify children in their locality who have not so far enrolled in any school and are not studying. School advised its students to provide their half pencil and remaining pages of their notebooks to such identified children and by doing this to motivate them for education.

This idea was introduced by Kainat Foundation, Chairman, Shakil Ahmed Kakvi for providing quality education to such non school going children by calling them to Kainat International School.

Through this project 200 such children have been spotted who are motivated to come to the school for education free of cost provided by the Kainat Foundation at school during 2-4 pm every day.

Kakvi said, “No other celebrations are better on the eve of International Literacy day than adopting kids for education. Now is the time when we have to provide slate in (kids) hands and not plate.”

With the help of this project Kakvi desires of eliminating illiteracy from his town and to provide each child better and quality education.

He tried to encouraged the gathering by suggesting a slogan – “Aadhi Roti Khainge – Bachoon ko Padhainge” – meaning ‘We will eat half bread but will teach children’.
