Kasaragod (Kerala): The special police team, which was constituted for the investigation of unruly murder of young SDPI activist Zainul Abid, has received success in arresting three more offenders, allegedly involved in the murder case.
With this, the police have arrested six persons so far on charges of hatching and abetting the crime.

Zainul Abid (24), a resident of Talangare Kunnil and SDPI activist, was attacked by a gang with sharp weapons at his family shop in Chakkar Bazaar of Kasaragod when he was about to close the shop and leave for home on of December 22, 2014.
Police on Thursday arrested Krishna (30) from Parekatte Anangoor Road, Sachin (22) from Eriyal, and Vijesh K (24) from Munnippady, all alleged of hatching a conspiracy to eliminate Abid.
The trio has been charged under provisions of IPC section 120-B (conspiracy) read with sec 302 (culpable homicide), and produced before the Kasaragod Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court, which remanded them to two week’s custody.
The arrests were made by a police team led by Kasaragod Deputy Superintendent of Police T P Renjith from different localities around the town, Circle Inspector of Police P K Sudhakaran said on Thursday.
On December 26, police arrested Tejas (19) from Beeranthabail, Abhishek (20) from Parakatte, and Akshay Roy (24) from Kudlupachakkad.
The Deccan Digest reports the alleged arrest of prime accused in the case from Mallapuram when he was on his way to Shabiramala. The police, however, have not formally announced the arrest.
Despite six arrests in the case, the police have said that the key persons who executed the plan are yet to be arrested. The persons so far arrested were part of the group, which planned the murder, the police said.
Dy Superintendent of Police T P Renjith said the prime suspect of the case, Jyothish, will be taken into custody by Saturday and added the arrested suspects would be produced before the Kasargod Judicial First Class Magistrate on Saturday.
The SDPI has already raised fingers towards RSS involvement in the murder. SDPI national president A Saeed had said in a statement: “The murder is the latest evidence of the Sangh terror developing in the state after BJP national president Amit Shah’s visit to the state.”
