​Security guards who had fought armed criminals felicitated at AMU

Aligarh: Mohammad Imran and Shahid Usman, security guards of the Proctor’s office at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have been felicitated for exceptional courage and bravery they displayed on December 10, 2014 in capturing an armed criminal at J N Medical College Hospital.

AMU Felicitated brave security guards

Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah, AMU vice chancellor, who felicitated the duo on Tuesday presented a cheque of Rs 20,000 to Imran, who was seriously injured by a bullet shot by the criminal. He was later operated at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The University bore all the expenses incurred on his treatment, a release from AMU said.

Gen Shah also presented a cheque of Rs 10,000 to Usman, the second security guard, who caught the armed criminal.

On this occasion, University Proctor Professor Jamshed Siddiqui and his team were present too. Siddiqui also issued a certificate of appreciation to both the security guards, the release added.
