WB madrassa board result declared; farmer’s son stands first in High Madrassa Examination 2015

Kolkata: High Madrassa, Alim and Fazil examination result of 2015 was declared by West Bengal Board of Madrassa Education with 78 % pass percentage compared to 77.86 % last year.

A total 40,642 students had appeared for the High Madrassa Examination, president of West Bengal Board of Madrassa Education Fazle Rabbe said in the press conference on Tuesday, May 19 here after the result was declared.

Girl students fared better than boys this year too. As many as 27,913 girl students had appeared for the High Madrassa Examination against only 12,729 boys. Of these, 20,841 girls and 10,858 boys passed the examination.

In Alim Examination (Equivalent to Secondary) appeared 6,433 students. Among them, boys are 3,137 and girls are 3,296. Of these, 2,248 girls and 2,784 boys passed. In Fazil Examination (Equivalent to Senior secondary) appeared 3,486 students: 2,189 boys and 1,297 girls. Of these, 833 girls and 1,907 boys passed.

West Bengal Board of Madrassa Education also published provisional merit list separately for High Madrassa, Alim and Fazil Examination. Mosaraf Hossain of Amirabad High Madrassa under Raninagar police station of Murshidabad district stood first in High Madrassa Examination 2015. He got 738 out of 800 marks.

Hossain comes from a very poor family. He lives in Bablabona village under the Raninagar police station. His graduate father Golam Mostafa maintains the family by working as an agricultural field labour. He somehow managed to get his daughter married but said he faces financial problems to afford his son’s education.

Financial weakness prompted Golam Mostafa to admit his sons at the local Muslim educational Institution ‘Al Alam Mission’, where all the cost is borne by the Mission authority. Mosaraf studied in Al Alam residential mission but gave high madrassa examination through nearest government recognized ‘Amirabad High Madrassa’.

Minarul Islam of Jangipur Muniria High Madrassa of Murshidabad stood second in High Madrassa examination. He got 737 marks out of 800. Minarul, a resident of Mandalpara under the ward no 2 of Jangipur municipality area. His father Enamul Sheikh, a diabetic, runs a small grocery shop in the locality. Minaruls mother Mojibun Nessa engaged in biri making works on contract basis. Minarul Islam wants to be a professor in future.

Kazi Dilruba Khanam of Khayerbari High Madrassa of Aliporeduar of Jalpaiguri district topped the High Madrassa examination among girls and over all stood fourth. Her father Kazi Nurun Nabi said, “Dilruba wants to be a doctor in future.”

In Alim examination, first rank was scored by Toriqul Islam Molla – who scored 793 marks out of 800 – of Gabati A H M senior Madrassa of the district North 24 Parganas. He lives in a remote village Jhupkhali under the Sandeshkhali police station of Sunderban areas. His father Abdul Malek is a Maulana, so Toriqul wants to be good teacher of Arabic in future.

In Fazil examination, Sanoar Hossain Paik of Furfura Fatehia Senior Madrassa of Hooghly district stood first. He comes from a poor family of the village Dhola of South 24 Parganas. His father Sajahan Seikh is a taxi driver. Sanoar said he wants to complete his higher education in Aligarh Muslim University with Arabic.
