US-based IMRC condoles death of A.R.Kidwai

California (US): Indian Muslim Relief and Charities on Monday condoled the death of former parliamentarian and Governor A. R. Kidwai.

In a message, the Executive Director of IMRC said that A. R. Kidwai holds a special place with IMRC and remembered fondly for his contributions in the establishment of Jahangirabad Institute of Technology (JIT), an engineering college in Barabanki, Uttar Padesh.

“I would like to express our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Akhlaq Ur Rahman Kidwai, renowned educationist and political leader, on August 24, 2016. During this time of mourning, our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and community,” said IMRC, Executive Director, Manzoor Ghori.

“We pray Allah (SWT) increases his ranks and grants him the highest level of Jannatul Firdaus,” he added.

Akhlaqur Rahman Kidwai, who served as the Governor of Bihar, West Bengal and Haryana and was a member of Rajya Sabha, passed away on Wednesday last week after a brief illness. He was 96.

Kidwai was born in 1920 in Baragaon village of Barabanki district in Uttar Pradesh and studied BA at Jamia Millia Islamia University, 1940, MSc at University of Illinois, US, 1948 and PhD at Cornell University, US, 1950.

Kidwai is survived by two sons and four daughters. He was laid to rest on August 25 at the Jamia graveyard.
