Jat agitation: Governor’s Gurgaon programmes cancelled

Gurgaon: In view of the volatile situation in the state owing to the Jat agitation, Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki could not reach an event here on Saturday, an official said.

Besides, another important programme scheduled for Sunday has been cancelled, the official added.

Solanki was to be the chief guest at a conference in Omshanti Retreat Centre, Bhora Kalan on Saturday but his tour was cancelled at the last moment.

Also, Facebook-supported programme ‘Women on Walk’, in which Solanki was to be the chief guest, scheduled to be organised in Leisure Valley Grounds here in Sector 29 on Sunday, has been postponed.

NGO named Women on Walk’s president Ravinder Panwar said the programme has been postponed due to the ongoing Jat agitation in the state.

Social networking site Facebook had also supported the cause of promoting women and girls to take up sports, for which this walk was scheduled to be organised.
