12 AMU students selected for SSESA scholarship

Aligarh: 12 students from Aligarh Muslim University have been selected for prestigious Sir Syed Excellence in Science Award (SSESA) scholarship.

The result came after Aligarh Alumni Association of New England (AAANE), Boston, USA, under its ambitious SSESA scholarship and mentoring programme, conducted online interview of the students belonging to different departments of studies at AMU Alumni Affairs Office.

The students who have been selected for the SSESA Scholarship for the session 2017-2018, include Anupriya Goyal, Somya Agarwal, Areeb Mahmood, Syed Mustafa Saleem, Shashank Kumar Garg, M. Farhan Akhtar, Aman Agarwal, Junaid Ahmad Pandith, Sobia Abdin, Musfar Mohamed K, Maha Mohammed Khan and Mohammad Hassan studying in various streams of B.Tech., M.Tech and M.Sc.

Selection panel was led by Dr. Syed Masarrat Ali and Dr. Noman Siddiqi of Aligarh Alumni Association of New England.

The Sir Syed Excellence in Science Award (SSESA) is a merit-based scholarship awarded to academically outstanding students of Aligarh Muslim University. It provides mentorship and financial support to the students preparing for entrance examinations such as GRE, TOEFL.
The selected students are provided with the application fees for admission to the universities around the globe. AMU students from various departments are shortlisted for interview based on their performance in academics and written test.

Mr. Saad Hameed, Training and Placement Officer of AMU, informed that Ayesha Khan from Chemical Engineering Department will join the Technical University of Dortmund while Ayush Mittal from Mechanical Engineering Department will join the RWTH University, Germany.
