Maulana Mahmood Madani, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has expressed his deep concern over incident of Hisar Masjid, in which some miscreants beat up Muslim religious scholar and forced him to chant ‘Vande Mataram’ etc.
Maulana Madani has demanded the state administration to take firm action for maintaining law and order in the state. Maulana Madani also said that such kind of incident is taking place with an aim to create a feeling of inferiority complex among the Muslim community, “But we will not allow such destructive forces to succeed in their nefarious design.” He also appealed Muslims to exercise retrain and face the situation with patience and tenacity.
Madani stressed that a true Muslim derives inspiration from the life of the Prophet Mohammad who guided us to keep patience, wisdom and forbearance during critical and provocative time. He added that anti-social elements have been provoking Muslims so that they could justify their criminal acts.
On July 13, some goons beat up an Imam, Qazi Mohammad Haroon of a local mosque at Hisar. The goons, who were angry after recent Amarnath Yatra attack which cost life of 6 people, also asked the Imam to chant Vande Mataram and other slogans to ‘verify the nationalism’ in them.
Maulana Madani also recalled that the ancestors of Jamiat had to face more adverse situation than the present one but never lost their patience and kept on fighting against it taking recourse to the Constitution of the country.
Maulana Mahmood Madani called upon likeminded countrymen to adopt effective way and means to take on handful communal forces and create a conducive and harmonious climate in the society. Maulana Madani informed that Qazi Mohammad Haroon is a resident of Mirzapur, Saharanpur. Maulana Tahir Mazahiri, organizer of JUH met the victim at his residence. Maulana Mazahiri dispatched a letter and other relevant documents to the central office of Jamiat at Delhi. He had registered an FIR in police station at Hisar. Jamiat has claimed to extend every cooperation so that perpetrators of this crime are brought to justice.
