AMU: Women’s College Students’ Union Election to be held on December 5

The Students’ Union of the Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University will soon have new office bearers as an election schedule for the same has been announced by the Chief Election Officer (CEO), Prof Hina Parwez.

According to the announcement, the undergraduate students of the Women’s College will use their votes on December 5 to elect a new student body.

The election schedule for the session 2017-18 made it clear that the display of the voters’ list will be on November 24, 2017 at 10 am, while the corrections in the voters’ list will be allowed by 10 am on November 25, 2017. Notification of the final voters’ list will be made on November 25 at around 4 pm.

The announcement said that filing of nomination papers in the prescribed format at the AD Block of the College will take place on November 27, 2017 followed by the Scrutiny of the nomination papers the same day.

Meanwhile, the withdrawal of nominations by the candidates will take place on November 28, 2017 from 10 am to 1 pm and the list of valid candidates will be displayed later in the evening at about 4 pm.

The allotment of serial numbers to the valid candidates will be done on November 29, 2017, while the circulation of the final list of the candidates with their allotted serial numbers will be made the same day.

The election notification further informed that the final speech from Women’s College auditorium will take place on December 3, 2017 after which the no canvassing will be allowed in any form. The polling will take place on December 5, 2017 from 9 am to 5 pm while counting of the votes will take place same day from 7 pm till the declaration of the results.
