Party state general secretary KPA Majeed informed the leadership that he was ready to give way for Khader while another possible candidate U A Latheef was outshined by K N A Khader’s two-time experience as MLA.

“He can perform well in Legislative Assembly and he is experienced too. This led to his candidature,” one of the state committee members of IUML told TwoCircles.net.

Khader, who was elected from Kondotty in 2001 and from Vallikkunnu in 2011, is presently functioning as IUML’s Malappuram district general secretary. U A Latheef was appointed as Malappuram district general secretary following Khader’s candidature.

While addressing the media persons after the meeting, Khader said the present political environment in the state will help IUML get a landslide victory. There is strong dissent against LDF government’s anti-minority and anti-Dalit policies,” Khader said.
