Dubai: Seems odd but openly in a Muslim nation, a Muslim-hater politician is expected to be the keynote speaker at an event which will celebrate the birth anniversary of another Muslim-hater politician of India.
Consulate General of India in Dubai is organizing an event to commemorate the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya, a controversial figure in Indian politics. He was president of Bhartiya Jana Sangh, an extremist Hindu political party that was known mostly for its cow movements which was meant to target Muslims.
Ram Madhav, like Upadhyayaa is a life-long member of anti-minorities Hindu organization Rashtriya Sawayamsewak Sangh (RSS) and now one of the national general secretaries of ruling Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP) since 2014.
Madhav has recently made his name by attacking Muslim politicians like former J&K CM Omar Abdullah calling him “apologists of the terrorists” and questioning India’s former VP Hamid Ansari for his absence from a government program.
Same Madhav told The Asian Age in 2008 following arrests of Hindu terrorists, “There is no such thing as Hindu terror at all. It is an orchestrated campaign to protect the real terrorists.” Also when asked about the Sadhvi Pragya’s arrest, he immediately tried to distance RSS from her. The “involvement of individuals, he said, “had nothing to do with any Hindu organization.”
Now this same person who for all his life part of anti-Muslim RSS will now come to a Muslim nation UAE that has an excellent track record of welcoming people of all faiths and regions and celebrate birth centenary of another controversial figure whose only claim to fame is being a failed politician.
Will better sense prevail and Vipul, current Consul General of India in Dubai cancel this program?
