Indian Association of Bihar and Jharkhand (IABJ) Qatar, an associated organization of Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) under the aegis of Embassy of India, Qatar, went to polls recently to elect its new committee. Ghufran Mohammad won uncontested the Presidential position of IABJ along with the 22 new Excom and Office Bearers for 2018 to 2019.
Faruque Ahmad, the Chairman of IABJ, handed over the reign to the newly-elected President Ghufran Mohammad to assume the office along with his team at Bengaluru Lounge of ICC Qatar. The election was held as per the new Constitution drafted and finalized by the Embassy of India for all the Indian associations affiliated to ICC. IABJ became the second associated organization of ICC to adopt the new Constitution and the elections were held as per the new guidelines of the Constitution.
The IABJ was founded by the people from Bihar and Jharkhand in the state of Qatar and affiliated to Indian Cultural Center (ICC) under the aegis of Embassy of India, Doha Qatar. Indian Association for Bihar & Jharkhand is a Socio-Cultural non-profit organization functioning in the state of Qatar for the community development and welfare of the people, or other community at large and people of Bihar & Jharkhand in particular.
The new and current office bearers of IABJ are Tanveer Ahmad, the Vice President; Rafique Ahmad, General Secretary; Imteyaz Ali Khan, Joint Secretary; Jahangir Alam, Treasurer; Majid Khan, Joint Treasurer; Gautam Singh, Cultural Secretary; Rashid Ekbal, Event Secretary; Irfan Hassan Ansari, Welfare Secretar; Nasim Khan, Sports Secretary; Hashmat Ali, Secretary Membership; Mohammad Khalid Hussain, Media and IT Secretary; Neha Singh, Women Secretary; Sajjad Alam, Afzal Nasir, Arvind Yadav, Sadruzzaman, Anand Gupta, Mujtaba Kamal, Azharuddin Ahmad, Samsad Ahmad, and Qarar Ahmad.
IABJ invited its members at the Bengaluru Lounge of ICC Qatar for the Oath-taking Ceremony for the new elected office bearers on Saturday, April 21. The Chairman of IABJ Faruque Ahmad addressed the gathering and urged the people from Bihar and Jharkhand to join IABJ and make the organization bigger and stronger. Faruque Ahmad added that since the year of 2009, IABJ is continuously organizing social and cultural events in Doha. He also told that the contribution of IABJ for the people of Bihar and Jharkhand in Doha is really appreciable. Due to its social works for the people of Bihar and Jharkhand, IABJ became a well-known organization in Doha and Indian Embassy also appreciated IABJ’s work several times. He said that IABJ is committed to continuing their support to the people of Bihar and Jharkhand.
IABJ’s Newly Elected President Ghufran Mohammad, Vice President Tanveer Ahmad, General Secretary Rafique Ahmad and Treasurer Jahangir Alam were warmly welcomed. At the end of the program, Safiruzzaman Ajazi one of the founder-members of IABJ thanked everyone for participating in this event.
