The NGO, in collaboration with LA’CHEF Restaurant, Maris road, Aligarh, gave people a chance to have their Christmas food with children and to interact with them to understand their lives on streets. For children, it was their first time eating in a restaurant like any other customer, and for others, it was their first time eating and building a friendship with those children.

Children, with the help of their partnered didi/bhaiya, ordered food for themselves. Children also took keen interest to know their lives. The whole restaurant was filled with as many as 20 children and the equal number of youth and with conversations, joy, laughter and lots of love. “This was the best Christmas I have celebrated and I have never spent my day in such a productive way ever,” said Reshu, a teacher in St. Fidelis School, Aligarh.

Mr. Govind Singh Rawat, owner La’chef Chain Restaurant said that “The experience was humbling to me in so many ways. Seeing those children smiling reminded me of how priceless these gifts are and should be cherished at all times,” said Ananya, an MBA Student of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

LA’ CHEF restaurant and RDWA have collaborated to hold many more such events and to connect more people with the major problem of children in street situations and their education.
