Urdu Academy to organise national seminar on ‘Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and his Vision’

Aligarh: The Centre for Professional Development of Urdu Teachers (Urdu Academy), Aligarh Muslim University in collaboration with National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), Ministry of Human Resource Development will organise a three-day national seminar on ‘Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and his Vision’ from January 8 to 10, 2018 at the Strachey Hall and Sir Syed Academy.

AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor will deliver the presidential remarks in the inaugural session, while Prof Tabassum Shahab (Pro-Vice Chancellor, AMU) will give presidential remarks during the valedictory function.

Prof Irtiza Karim (Director, NCPUL) will deliver the inaugural address which will be followed with a key-note address by Prof Shamim Hanafi (Prof Emeritus, Jamia Millia Islamia).

Descendents of Nawab Lutf Ali Khan of Chhatari and Raja Baqar Ali Khan of Pindrawal will be felicitated on the occasion.

Prof A R Kidwai (Director, UGC-HRDC, AMU), Dr Rahat Abrar (Director, Urdu Academy), Prof Akhtarul Wasey (Vice Chancellor, Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur), Prof Mohd Zahid (Dean, Faculty of Arts), Prof Syed Mohammad Hashim (Chairperson, Department of Urdu) and Dr Syed Raza Haider (Director, Ghalib Academy) will also be present.
