Pragya Singh is being fielded by the BJP to contest the LS elections from Bhopal and is supposed to be filing her nomination papers on 23rd.

Nisar Ahmed 59, lost his young son Azhar Ahmed in the explosion in Bhikku Chowk, Malegaon along with 5 other victims while nearly 100 others including children were injured. The blast took place on September 29th 2008 which was also the month of Ramadan.

Pragya Singh is one of the main accused and was arrested along with Lt. General Parsad Prohit by late Hemant Karkare. They were been charged with murder, attempt to murder, voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, promoting enmity between different groups and punishment of criminal conspiracy. Later she was released on a conditional bail on grounds of  health.

In his petition the applicant Nisar Ahmed has mentioned that Pragya was released on compassionate grounds due to her failing health as she was said to be suffering from breast cancer was not even in a position to walk on her own. And if it is indeed true that she is a cancer patient how is it possible that she is ready to fight elections in the scorching summer heat? Asked the applicant Nisar Ahmed who in his application also stated that Pragya has misled the court so that bail may be granted to her.

He has requested the court to stop her from filing her nomination papers as she is not yet acquitted and her trail is underway.

The victims of the Malegaon blast are still awaiting justice. And every year Kul Jamiti Tanjeem protest against the incident and demand for justice at the graveyard ‘Hamidiya Masjid Qabrastan’, Malegaon from2006 when the first blast took place.
