BJP leader booked for anti-muslim comments in Begusarai

Giriraj Singh, BJP leader while addressing a gathering during a rally in Begusarai on 24th April, Wednesday said, ” The nation will not forgive those who refuse or cannot say Vande mataram and do not respect the  mother land.” He also said that “My ancestors died at the Simaria ghat and no grave was built for them but you [Muslims] need three hand spans of space.”

During his speech, BJP party president  Amit Shah was also present. Giriraj Singh is also said to have told earlier that green colours in political party flags should be banned as it represents the flag of Pakistan.

The District Magistrate, Rahul Kumar, took cognizance of Giriraj Singh’s anti-Muslim comments and filed a FIR for hurting religious sentiments.

The Election commission has also issued a  show cause notice and demanded explanation to be given in 24 hours.

The next day, i.e., Thursday Prime Minister also said that if candidates contesting elections do not chant Vande mataram, their deposits should be forfeited during his campaign in Darbhanga district of Bihar.
