Amanullah, 64, a retired army officer was beaten by unknown assailants in his home in Amethi district, Uttar Pradesh.
On Saturday night when Amanullah and his wife were alone in the house, the assailants entered the house and attacked him trashing him even on the head due to which he died on the spot.
The incident happened in Godiyan ka purva village that falls under Kamrauli Police Station limits.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigations are underway searching the assailants. The motive is not yet known.
