SC to hear Ayodhya land dispute case of Ram Janmabhoomi- Babri Masjid on Friday

The Supreme Court is all set to hear the land dispute case tomorrow, Friday as the interim report has been submitted on May 6 by the three member mediation committee that was set up 2 months back in March.

The matter will be heard by a bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi and judges SA Bobde, Dr DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and Abdul Nazeer.

The 3 member mediation committee was set up after the apex court had asked for a mediation with hopes of an amicable settlement. The 3 members are spiritual guru and founder of Art of Living foundation Sri Sri Ravishankar; senior advocate Sriram Panchu and former apex court judge F M I Kalifulla who  headed the committee.

They were asked to complete their proceedings and submit the report in 8 weeks by the SC.

The land in dispute is the place where the Babri Masjid built in the 16th century stood and was demolished by Kar sevaks on December 10, 1992.
