AMU’s journal on women of marginalized communities released online

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has revived its reputed women’s journal ‘Women and Society’ by an online relaunching on Thursday, July 9.

The online release was inaugurated by AMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor at 11 am via a virtual conference. Reputed scholar and member of the editorial board, Professor Shireen Moosvi, and founder Director of Centre for Women’s Studies, Prof Zakia Siddiqui spoke at the will also spoke at the session followed by an interactive talk from the contributors and readers. This special relaunch issue is titled ‘Issues of women of marginalized communities: Concerns about exclusion’, informed Professor Azra Musavi, Director, Centre for Women’s Studies.

The journal, known for its in-depth coverage and features on women’s community concerns is a publication of the AMU’s Centre for Women’s Studies. The revival of this magazine has been done to provide a platform for various issues plaguing the women of the marginalized communities. Additionally, it would also carry research articles, field surveys and book reviews.
