While JIH members have been on the ground since the first day of lockdown to render services in all possible ways to these warriors, it spent the Eid in a unique way by preparing special food packets for officials of the district administration, police, medical officers, nurses, paramedical staff and cleanliness workers.

“The real spirit of Eid festivity is in sharing and giving,” said JIH president P S Umar Farook.

He further thanked others who supported this initiative, namely, M S Shabbir Ali (Secretary of JIH), A Abdul Hakkim (Public Relations Secretary), Moulavi Mohamed Ismail Imdhadhi (Correspondent from Hidhaaya Islamic College for Women), Peer Mohamed (secretary) and Samir.

Besides the JIH, customized festive food packets were also distributed to staff at CMCH and ESI Hospital by Coimbatore Corporation’s Emergency Food Response Team.

JIH members who have been cooperating with authorities and government officials including hospital workers and police departments during their essential distribution drives have earned the goodwill of district police. They have been praised for promoting “peaceful coexistence among all faiths,” and have even been rewarded with a certificate of appreciation for their selfless service by the city’s Corporation Commissioner Sravan Kumar Jatavat.

Farook said that, “Truly, this turned out to be a communal harmony festivity where the JIH derived pleasure in the joy of giving and honouring the corona warriors at this hour of crisis.”
