Bhopal: Majid Hussain, a resident of Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur district, recently grabbed headlines by securing the top rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main), 2025, in the state. His all-India rank stands at 17. Following the result of the country’s one of the toughest written tests to enter into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) was declared, congratulations began pouring in. Majid credits his success to his hard work, parents and the academy where he studied for their immense support.
“I began preparing for IIT-JEE after completing my 10th grade because my father and cousin had already informed me about it. So, I worked consistently, and the result is in front of you — I scored 296 out of 300 in JEE Mains, achieving 99.9992 percentile, and topped in Madhya Pradesh. My next goal is to top the JEE Advanced exam across the country,” he told TwoCircles.net.
Majid’s mother, Sakina Hussain, emphasises on the importance of early education. “The education my children received until 10th grade was very crucial, as it helped in laying a strong foundation. The way they have tried to study with dedication, we have supported them just as much. The children studied for less time, but it was all quality study and quality time. The children are doing what they are interested in. We never set any specific goals for them because this is just the beginning. They may not know what they want to become, but it is certain that they are interested in Physics and Mathematics, so they will surely do well in the future,” she said with a smile of hope on her face.
Not only did Majid excel in JEE Mains, but he has also proven his exceptional talent in several national and international Olympiads. He has won first place in the NSEC, INPhO, IOQM, NSEP, INMO, INChO and SOF Olympiads. These successes apparently solidified his position as a top student.
“We always encouraged our son and supported him in every possible way. His hard work and dedication have earned him this success, and the teachers of Macro Vision Academy have also been an important part of his historic achievement,” she said.
Anand Prakash Choukse, founder and chairman of the Macro Vision Academy where he prepared for the IIT, expressed his joy and pride over Majid’s success. “Our academy is known for doing something different, and our student Majid Hussain has proven it true. He has been a hardworking and promising student since the beginning. His success is a matter of pride for the entire school and city.”
Majid’s success has not only brought pride to his family but also to the entire city of Burhanpur and the state of Madhya Pradesh. His achievement has inspired many Muslim students who previously struggled with their studies and lacked the motivation to work hard.
Majid’s success has ignited a new spirit of academic determination within the Muslim community. In his message, Majid said, “The future holds even more competition. If you fall behind once, you will not be able to cover up. I studied continuously for 12 to 14 hours to achieve this milestone.”
