Kendrapada (Orissa) : A leader of Orissa's ruling Biju Janata Dal was arrested Thursday for attacking a journalist in Kendrapada district, police said.
On Wednesday, Bikram Das, husband of Kendrapada district council chairperson Manjulata Das, allegedly assaulted Suvarnsu Sutar, a scribe of an Oriya daily at Rajkanika village in the district, some 150 km from here.

The court rejected his bail petition and remanded him to jail custody, Ratnakar Mallik, a district police officer, said.
