Raipur : Six criminals escaped from a jail in northern Chhattisgarh Thursday after injuring the jailor and two constables.
The incident took place at the sub-jail at Katghora town in Korba district, about 180 km north of capital Raipur.
"A total of eight jail inmates injured two constables besides jailor in-charge T.R. Dhruv of Katghora sub-jail Thursday and escaped but two of them were arrested while the rest managed to run away," a police official said. Police launched searches to nab them.
In April, 139 prisoners of the same sub-jail had run amok and briefly taken over control after injuring six security personnel when authorities were conducting searches for mobile phones with prisoners.
