According to the Indian official, who addressed a convention on “Indo-US civil nuclear cooperation and its future impact”, a similar deal will be signed with Russia later this year.

Mukherjee said that although the ratification of a nuclear agreement with the United States is pending, it would not prevent India from having bilateral agreements with other countries for supply of nuclear fuel.

He stressed that the support granted by the International Atomic Energy Organization allows India to enter into the world market of nuclear resources.

The Indian Prime Minister left on Monday on a 10-day trip to the US and France.
