The posters were seized by the police from Birsa roundabout of Ranchi.

Jharkhand Liberation Tiger (JLT) have called for a shutdown Thursday against killing of its top commander Ajay Yadav two days ago in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district.

JLT called the strike, terming the encounter a fake.

“Ajay Yadav was arrested by the police and he was killed in a fake encounter,” says the poster pasted by JLT members.

The media, ambulance services and chemist shops have been allowed to function during the shutdown.

The killing of Maoist leader Ajay Yadav is a major setback for JLT. Yadav was one of its founder members.

JLT, which is a breakaway group of Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), has made its presence felt in eight districts of Jharkhand.

Maoist rebels are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
