Athens : Vice-President of Greek Parliament Elsa Papandimithriou here Wednesday said that Athens is resolute to expand parliamentary ties with Iran.
In a meeting with an Iranian parliamentarian Fatemeh Rahbar, she hailed Iran’s rich culture, urging both Iran and Greece to introduce their great civilizations to the world.
She expressed hope that she would pay a visit to Iran soon.
Rahbar said that parliaments of the two countries play significant roles in promoting mutual ties.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to cooperate and consult with Greece on leading regional and international issues as Athens will hold the presidency of the Organization for Europe Security and Cooperation (OSCE),” Rahbar said.
Rahbar is presently in Athens at the head of a high-ranking delegation to take part in an art festival and a seminar on Iranian women.
