Nearly twice as many students max CBSE class 10 maths paper

New Delhi : Compared to last year, the number of students who scored a perfect 100 in maths in the Central Bureau of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 10 exams this year has almost doubled. In other papers too, more students have scored cent percent, a CBSE spokesperson said here Friday.

A total of 4,443 students scored a century in mathematics this year. Last year the number was 2,647.

CBSE spokesperson Rama Sharma said that the overall number of perfect 100 scorers in the class 10 exams has increased by 2,028.

“Last year the total number of students scoring 100 in the class 10 exams was 5,071. This year it increased to 7,099,” Sharma said.

Amongst other subjects in which the number of century scorers have increased is Social Science. Unlike last year when 598 students scored 100 in the subject, this year, 1,770 students had the perfect score.

The CBSE class 10 exams results for three zones – Delhi, Allahabad and Guwahati – were declared Friday. The results of the other three zones – Panchkula, Ajmer and Chennai – had been declared Tuesday.

A total of 828,598 students – 343,467 girls and 485,131 boys – sat for the CBSE class 10 exams in India and abroad this year.
