Dehradun : As many as 497 cadets passed out of the Indian Military Academy here Saturday to be commissioned as officers in the Indian Army.
Besides, 16 foreign cadets were also declared successful at the impressive 124th passing out parade of the country’s premier military training centre.
Punjab Governor and the Indian Army’s former chief General S.F.Rodericks took the salute as chief guest.
According to an official spokesman, about 15 per cent of the newly commissioned officers belonged to Uttar Pradesh, which continues to send the maximum number of entrants to the Indian defence services.
It remained an eventful day not only at the IMA but also for the entire town which was given a festive look.
