New Delhi, July 18 (IANS) Roots of Kashmir (ROK), an organisation of the Kashmiri Pandit community, has sought an appointment with visiting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to highlight their plight.
“We at Roots in Kashmir request Madam Secretary to meet a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits during your stay in New Delhi and give them hope and solace to bear the community’s slow march to oblivion,” said a statement released by the ROK.
“The United States government has through its reports on religious minorities recognised the forced exodus of Kashmiri Pandits as a human catastrophe. If things do not change in Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandit culture will surely disappear, and forces of intolerance, religious zealotry and violence will prevail,” the statement said.
