Cairo : Permanent delegates at an Arab League meeting here have agreed on the agenda of the 128th session due to be held at the level of foreign ministers on Sept 5.

Assistant Arab League secretary-general for political affairs Ahmad bin Hilli told reporters Monday the agenda deals with diverse topics including a report filed by the Arab Fact-Finding Committee on the bloody events that occurred in Gaza on June 15.

He said that the agenda also includes a report by the league’s authority for follow-up on implementation of resolutions, namely those of the Riyadh summit, a report on Arab dialogue for national security, the Palestinian cause, the Arab peace initiative for resolving the regional conflict, conditions in Jerusalem, supporting the Palestinian budget, conditions in the Golan Heights and solidarity with Lebanon.

Hilli pointed out that the Arab foreign ministers, during their upcoming meeting, would discuss, in particular, conditions in Lebanon, namely outcome of efforts by the Arab League to resolve the crisis in that country, in addition to Iran’s occupation of three UAE islands, the Lockerbie case, and the US sanctions on Syria, Sudan, Somalia and the Comoros.

The Arab officials will also discuss Israel’s nuclear power and space activities, combating terrorism and preparations for holding an Arab summit for addressing economic and social issues, he added.
