King Abdullah made his remarks during a meeting Sunday with the committee’s envoy, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who is currently visiting Jordan in the course of a regional tour.

The King said the success of the projected meeting requires serious cooperative efforts in the coming weeks by all parties concerned with peace in the region so that participants in the meeting would come up with positive results that could meet aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the entire Palestinian land. Final status issues should top the agenda of the international meeting, King Abdullah said.

On his part, Blair outlined efforts being exerted by the committee to forge ahead with the peace process in the region. He also informed King Abdullah about the outcome of his current tour in the region.

Meanwhile, he hailed King Abdullah’s continued efforts to develop proximity between the Palestinians and Israelis and to back the peace-making process.
