Ansari and other Members forced the government to make a statement in the House that the Report will soon be tabled in the Parliament. TwoCircles.net has published major portion of the Mishra Report.

Today’s Rajya Sabha adjournment on the issue was second time in the ongoing winter session of the Parliament. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned on the same issue on November 24, with JD-U’s Ansari raising the matter as the house assembled at 11 a.m.

The trouble began today during Zero Hour as Ali Anwar Ansari and Sabir Ali of JD-U and Aziz Pasha and P. Madhu of the Communist Party of India (CPI) advanced to the speaker’s podium demanding that the Mishra Commission report be tabled in the house. When they did not listen to the Chair the House was adjourned for 15 minutes.

The protests continued for five minutes when the house resumed. The order was restored only when Minorities Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid walked in at 12.35 p.m. and made his statement. He declared that the report of the Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission would be tabled in parliament.

“The matter is under the consideration of the government and we will bring it before parliament,” he said.

In two interviews with TCN, Ali Anwar Ansari was asked as to why the MPs who support Mishra recommendations do not force the government to public it, and why on small issues Houses are adjourned but on this big issue MPs do not force any adjournment.
