South Africa A captain Yusuf Abdullah and his team-mates were quite impressed with the facilities and pitch at the newly constructed stadium. India A captain Mohammad Kaif, on the other hand, hoped to take advantage of his experience of playing here before.

Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) spokesman Sanjay Sharma said the South Africans practised in the morning session while the hosts had a session in the afternoon.

India A beat the visitors by an innings and 242 runs in the first four day match between the two teams in New Delhi last week.

The stadium has already hosted some international fixtures including a four-day match between India A and Pakistan besides many Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy matches.
