New Delhi: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will move an adjournment motion on price rise Feb 23 and demand suspension of question hour in the Lok Sabha.
The meeting of the NDA leaders Sunday, which took these decisions, was attended by BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, the Shiv Sena’s Manohar Joshi and Shiromani Akali Dal’s Naresh Gujral.
The issue of forthcoming Feb 25 foreign secretary-level talks was also discussed at the meeting.
“The prime minister should give categorical assurances that there will be no deviation from the 1994 resolution that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is an integral part of the country,” Deputy leader of the BJP in the Rajya Sabha S.S. Ahluwalia told reporters.
Ahluwalia said that the BJP will also raise the issues of the Pune bomb blast, the ongoing Maoist violence and the demand for separate state of Telangana during the budget session of parliament that starts Monday.
He said his party will also want discussion on the plight of farmers in the light of recent decisions on rise in price of urea.
Answering a query if there will be any floor coordination with other opposition parties, Ahluwalia said: “There is no formal understanding, but the BJP, the Left and the Samajwadi party have common stand on some of these issues, as was reflected in the meeting of chief whips Feb 17.”
