New Delhi : A 14-year-old boy on his way back from watching an IPL match was killed near the Rajpath boulevard in the national capital when a speeding Mitsubishi Lancer collided with the Wagon R he was travelling in early Thursday, police said.
Harshit, who was returning after watching the match between Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians with his family, died in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) S. Dash told IANS.
Two people were injured in the accident that took place at around 1.30 a.m. when the Lancer, being driven by Saurav Jain, rammed into the Wagon R so hard that the vehicle turned turtle twice before coming to rest.
“We have arrested Jain and are awaiting his medical examination report to ascertain whether he was driving under the influence of alcohol. Another person who suffered critical injuries is being treated in hospital,” Dash said.
