“I have ordered an inquiry into the reported incidents of misuse of schools premises especially in the evening time and have asked the city magistrate and the Basic Sikshha Adhikari (BSA) to submit their report within a week,” Gautambudh Nagar District Magistrate Deepak Agrawal said Saturday.

In the absence of boundary walls and main gates, the anti-social elements used to use the class rooms of the government primary schools to sit and drink. Agarwal said that though the government does not grant any budget for boundary walls but the Noida authority has constructed boundary walls and installed gates at the schools. He said the authority should be informed if any school has been left out.

A government school in sector-12 was found being misused by anti-social elements for drinking, since police patrols did not allow drinking in any public place. “The school was a convenient place for us but after the media hype, it has posed a problem for us,” said a habitual drinker on the condition of anonymity.
