Cairo : Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa will head to Lisbon, Portugal, Sunday to take part in the EU parliament’s foreign relations and cooperation committee meeting.
The League’s official spokesman Alaa Rushdi told the press that Moussa’s address to the conference would focus on the situation in the Mideast and efforts to revive the peace process. The address would also touch upon European-Arab relations.
Rushdi said that the meeting would be attended by President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana, Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Socrates, and Foreign Minister Luis Amado. Portugal is the current holder of the EU Presidency.
Moussa, said the Arab spokesman, would also head to Cordoba, Spain, on Tuesday to part-take in the conference intolerance and discrimination against Muslims, organized by the EU security and cooperation committee.
The Arab League Chief would address the conference alongside Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos.
