New Delhi : India is likely to play in an eight-nation hockey tournament for juniors to be held in Malaysia early next year.
The tournament has been proposed by the Malaysian Hockey Federation (MHF) to provide their national juniors with top-level matches as part of their preparations for the 2009 Junior World Cup to be held in Malaysia.
Apart from India and Pakistan, the other teams expected to be invited include Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, Australia and Spain in the tournament planned on Jan 21-30, 2008.
The tournament will also be a forerunner to the Junior Asia Cup qualifiers.
