Dammam: The Allahabad High Court verdict in Babri Masjid title suit, if not opposed, will pave way for demolition and occupation of other mosques and religious places of other communities also. The fight for Babri Masjid is fight against fascists in order to safeguard the interests and welfare of both the community and nation. The views were expressed by speakers at India Fraternity Forum (IFF) program on the subject here in Dammam on 7th January.
The verdict delivered by Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on Babri Masjid title suit has hurt Muslims more than its demolition because it was demolition of a single mosque by anti-national elements but the verdict may cause the demolition and illegal occupancy of number of mosques in future. Therefore, Muslims are protesting against the verdict since it was delivered on 30th Sep. 2010.
The Tamil Chapter of IFF Dammam organized the program with the theme of ‘Babri Masjid demands justice’ on 7th Jan. 2011 at Nahda Club, Dammam. The program was attended by a number of Indian Muslims living there.
Delivering keynote speech, Sadiq Meeran mentioned various historical facts right from the period of Mughal emperor Babar to prove the non-existence of a Ram temple at the place of Babri Masjid.
He exhorted Muslims to come out and involve themselves in this fight against the fascists in order to safeguard their own interests and for the welfare of the nation.
“If the Muslims remain mute spectators then this would give the Hindutva forces the confidence to claim more like Mathura, Kashi & Varanasi shrines as well” he said adding: “Fight for the Babri Masjid is not against the Hindus but against the Hindutva terror forces.”
In his address, Riaz Ahamed stated that the fight for Babri Masjid is a part of the long struggle taken against the Hindutva fascists. He also lambasted police for implicating innocent Muslims falsely in terror attacks that were carried out by the Hindutva groups.
Earlier Nagore Meeran welcomed the gathering and talked about the need for holding such events. The audience was briefed with IFF activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On the occasion, a documentary film on Babri Masjid was also screened.
