Paris : Saif al-Islam, son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, has predicted in an interview Wednesday that the regime will regain control of the country “within two days”.
In an interview with the French Le Figaro, al-Islam admitted the regime had been rattled in the east.
“It’s true that it’s a bit messy in the east,” he said. “A few hundred people died there,” he said.
“Within two days, everything will be back in order,” he predicted.
The 38-year old flatly rejected allegations of crimes against humanity as foreign media “propaganda”.
“At the beginning of the clashes, which were mainly restricted to Benghazi and El Beida, police panicked and shot tens of demonstrators who attacked police stations,” he said.
But there had been no airstrikes on the population or other crimes against humanity, he insisted.
The London-educated engineer and politician said the government was anxious to “launch a vast plan of reforms as quickly as possibly”.
